If you're planning your dream wedding and looking for a beautiful and unique venue, as a wedding photographer, I highly recommend checking out The Historic German House in Rochester, NY. This stunning building used to be a restaurant, but is now a gorgeous, historic wedding venue located in the heart of Rochester and boasts a rich history and timeless charm.
Sarah and her friends got ready in the Highland Suite, which is a styled and absolutely gorgeous getting-ready space. They have makeup tables with mirrors to make getting ready easier (huge bonus) a bluetooth sound system, coffee bar and lounge. I loved all the velvet furniture, gold accents, and chandelier (a wedding photographer’s dream). In fact, we loved the space SO much that after we were finished getting ready, we did Sarah and Andy’s first look in the Highland Suite too, and it was perfect.
One of the many things that makes The Historic German House such a special venue is its stunning architecture. The building was built in 1908 and has been meticulously maintained, preserving its original charm and character. The grand ballroom, with its high ceilings and beautiful chandeliers, is the perfect setting for a romantic and elegant wedding and I absolutely LOVE the theater seating up in the balcony. The ballroom can seat 150+ comfortably, while still leaving room for the dance floor, and 200+ for cocktail style receptions.
In addition to its beautiful setting, The Historic German House also offers a range of amenities and services to ensure that your wedding day is perfect. The venue has an on-site wedding coordinator who will work with you to plan every detail of your big day, from the ceremony and reception to the catering and entertainment. They were so kind and helpful during the day, and did a beautiful job with setup. I also loved that everything flowed so effortlessly. After the ceremony guests were invited back to the bar area and the curtain was closed, sectioning off the reception space while the staff set everything up. This was the ideal setup, and so nice to keep everyone in one space, especially for a November wedding when it’s a little chilly outside.
One of the other great things about The Historic German House is its convenient location. Located in the heart of Rochester, it's easy for your guests to access and there are plenty of nearby hotels for out-of-town guests. The venue is also just a short drive from a range of attractions, so your guests can make a weekend of it and enjoy all that Rochester has to offer.
Overall, if you're looking for a beautiful and unique venue for your wedding, I highly recommend The Historic German House in Rochester, NY. From its stunning architecture (that makes for gorgeous photos) to its convenient location, it has everything you need for a truly memorable and special day.
