When Krista mentioned doing her and Tyler’s engagement session at Arlington Acres in Lafayette NY, I was super excited. They’ll be getting married there in October, and it was the perfect chance for me to meet them in person AND check out the venue beforehand. When I arrived they were getting ready to set up for a drive-in movie night with a huge projector. How cool is that?! It would be the perfect date night if you live near Syracuse.
Arlington Acres (for couples and Syracuse NY wedding photographers)
I had never been to Arlington Acres before, but let me tell you, it is beautiful! I was able to take a peek inside and was super excited to see the bridal suite for getting ready photos. They even had a pretty hanger there for dress photos, and I really appreciate that level of attention to detail. I also have to mention the string lights strung up all around the barn (every photographer’s favorite.)
Arlington Acres also has a really cute tradition of having couples stop over exactly 1 month before their wedding to bury a bottle of bourbon on the grounds. It’s supposed to bring them good weather on their wedding day. They leave it in the ground and dig it up after their ceremony. Basically, if you're looking for a Syracuse NY wedding venue, Arlington Acres isn't far, and you should definitely check them out.
We started Krista and Tyler'ss engagement session by burying the bourbon and then we took some photos around the venue. Since the drive-in movie was happening that night, we decided to head over to another nearby location, Labrador Pond, for the rest of the photos.
Labrador Pond Unique Area Tully NY
If you’re a Syracuse wedding photographer and you’re looking for engagement session locations, I definitely recommend Labrador Pond! It’s about a 30 minute drive from the city, and I loved the Labrador Hollow Boardwalk over the water. It wasn’t super crowded when we were there either. Just make sure you double-check your GPS before you drive there because google maps wanted to have us park on the side of the road instead of the parking area. I think if I had entered “Labrador Pond Unique Area Tully NY” instead of “Labrador Pond”, it would have been just fine.
