Barn Wedding Venues in the Finger Lakes

Finger Lakes, NY

There are so many different barn weddings venues in the Finger Lakes of NY to choose from. Some have more of a traditional wooden barn feel, some are constructed from stone and have a more historic feel, and some are converted barns that have a more modern feel. Below you’ll find a few of my favorites and a list of more Finger Lakes barn venues that I would recommend checking out.

Dutch Harvest Farm

White wedding Barn and outdoor chapel against the rolling hills of the Finger Lakes Region in upstate NY

Couple gets married in outdoor chapel of Dutch Harvest Farm Wedding Barn in the Finger Lakes of NY

Dutch Harvest Farm is a traditional wooden barn, but painted a bright, modern white, making it absolutely perfect for weddings. This is a farm venue with a modern feel, and the covered on-site ceremony space with the rolling hills of the finger lakes in the background is so picturesque. From a photography perspective, I love the wraparound porch in case of light rain or harsh sunlight.

Address: Dutch Harvest Farm, 1487 Ridge Rd, Lansing, NY 14882
Lodging on site: No

Silver Queen Farm

Bride walks down the aisle and shares her first kiss with groom at Barn Wedding Venue in the Finger Lakes

Silver Queen Farm is as traditional as it gets because it’s actually a working farm. The time of year you get married will determine your backdrop, as the field behind the farm will be growing whatever flowers, fruits, or vegetables are in season. If you're looking for traditional and rustic, Silver Queen Farm is a great choice.

Address: Silver Queen Farm, 5286 Stillwell Rd, Trumansburg, NY 14886
Lodging on site: No

The Treman Center

The Treman Center was actually a decaying 19th-century barn that was uprooted, moved to Newfield, NY and beautifully re-worked into a stunning, modern wedding venue. It’s a beautiful mix of a traditional wooden barn (check out those beautiful, bold red walls) and a more historic stone barn, all while still feeling like a modern wedding venue.

Address: The Treman Center, 95 Hines Rd, Newfield, NY 14867
Lodging on site: Yes (for the married couple)

Gratitude and Grace

Gratitude and Grace is a traditional wood barn with a gorgeous farmhouse on site. I love that you and your wedding party have the option to stay here before and after the wedding, and like I mentioned above, having the farmhouse included is a wonderful way to make sure we have a backup location for your wedding day portraits in case of rainy weather.

Address: Gratitude and Grace, 235 Harvey Hill Rd, Ithaca, NY 14850
Lodging on site: Yes

Frog Pond B&B & Carriage Barn

Barn reception space, bride and groom, and sign outside of Frog Pond B&B and Carriage Barn in Skaneateles, NY

The Carriage Barn at Frog Pond is a beautifully restored barn on the grounds of a historic 1821 stone house, just minutes from the village of Skaneateles. With over 100 acres of gardens and countryside, this venue offers both indoor and outdoor ceremony locations, plus the option to add a tent for larger receptions. I love that the on-site bed and breakfast provides a space to stay for the weekend, and the property has so many gorgeous outdoor spaces for portraits.

Address: Frog Pond B&B and Carriage Barn, 680 Sheldon Rd, Skaneateles, NY 13152
Lodging on site: Yes

Osmica at Spring Trail Farm

Farmhouse and Barn at Osmica at Spring Trail Farm Wedding Venue in Lansing, NY

Hayloft wedding ceremony, bride and groom walking through a field, and bride and guests dancing during wedding reception at Osmica at Spring Trail Farm in Lansing, NY

Osmica at Spring Trail Farm is a historic barn venue just outside Ithaca that combines rustic charm with a focus on sustainability. The on-site farmhouse is such a cozy spot to get ready and stay the night - plus it's beautiful in photos. Ceremonies can be held outdoors in front of the flowering fields (or honestly anywhere on the property), or in case of rain, the three-tiered barn has a beautiful hayloft that doubles as a backup ceremony space. The barn is large, with plenty of space for dinner and dancing, and the dance floor setup here is something I really appreciate. The dance floor and dining area are on opposite ends of the same floor of the barn, making it easy for guests who want to socialize to be a little farther removed from the dance floor.

Address: Osmica at Spring Trail Farm, 59 Emmons Rd, Lansing, NY 14882
Lodging on site: Yes

Advice for Choosing a Barn Wedding Venue in the Finger Lakes

As a wedding photographer, the advice I always give when couples are looking for a Barn wedding venue is to think about your rain plan. Many barn venues have other structures on the property, like the beautiful farmhouse at Gratitude and Grace, but many others don’t. If you end up with rain on your wedding day, where will you be able to take your portraits? If your only option is inside the barn, you may want to research the local area and see if there are any indoor locations close by that could be used for portraits in case of inclement weather.

Barn Weddings in the Finger Lakes with Lodging

Another thing you may want to keep in mind is if there is lodging at the venue. Having lodging available at your barn wedding venue adds convenience and fosters a sense of community. It allows the wedding party and guests to stay on-site, creating a relaxed and intimate atmosphere. Guests can enjoy the celebration without worrying about transportation, enhancing the overall experience and making cherished memories together. It's not always necessary, but something you might want to consider when making your choice, so I've made a note for each venue below if there is lodging at the venue.
