Paul and Sheehan's Adirondacks Elopement at the Whiteface Mountain Chalet in Wilmington, NY was an absolute dream. The wedding felt like a group effort in the most beautiful way. The wedding party built the fire, a friend did Sheehan's makeup, another friend officiated, and Paul and Sheehan wrote their own vows. Then, together with ten of their closest friends, they tied the knot in front of a smoky bonfire.
Eloping in the Adirondacks (for couples and wedding photographers)
If you’re thinking about eloping in the Adirondacks or looking for a place to hold a small wedding, the Whiteface Mountain Chalet was perfect. It was a bit foggy when I was there, but when it cleared we had a gorgeous view of Whiteface Mountain.
You have so many options nearby for your ceremony, but I definitely recommend using the backyard. You can take your time doing hair, makeup, and getting dressed right at the house, and when you’re ready there’s a door on the back of the house that takes you right onto a stone path that serves as a perfect center aisle for your ceremony. The fire pit and pine trees behind you are the perfect ceremony backdrop.
After the ceremony (or before if you’re feeling it) there are so many beautiful locations nearby to explore for couples portraits or a first look, and eloping or having a small wedding really gives you the time to do that. So, if you're looking to elope in upstate new york, you should definitely check out the Whiteface Mountain Chalet.
