If you're dreaming of an enchanting celebration immersed in historic charm and surrounded by breathtaking vistas, let me introduce you to The Fontainebleau Inn in Alpine, NY—a hidden gem nestled in the heart of the Finger Lakes region. I photographed Emily and Mikolaj’s fall wedding at The Fontainebleau Inn and I’m already dreaming of going back.
Historic Finger Lakes Wedding Venue
Steeped in history since its construction in 1814, this majestic manor house boasts thirty acres of sprawling old-growth forest, enchanting gardens, and expansive lawns that beckon you to explore their natural beauty. Take in the serenity of wooded trails or unwind by the lakeshore, where Adirondack chairs, a spacious dock, and a rustic stone fire pit await, setting the stage for intimate moments and lakeside memories.
Step inside, and you'll discover a seamless blend of history and modern comfort. The Inn's architectural grandeur—think stately columns, intricate woodwork, and captivating views of Cayuta Lake—sets the stage for a wedding straight out of a fairy tale. The Inn's interior exudes classic charm while offering contemporary amenities. From the farmhouse kitchen to the cozy living spaces and the expansive stone porches, every corner radiates warmth and hospitality. I loved photographing Emily's dress and portraits of Mikolaj in the antique library, and later, the elegant dining room was the perfect space for a few pre-ceremony portraits of Emily.
Fontainebleau Inn Bridal Salon
Let's talk about the bridal salon at The Fontainebleau Inn in Alpine, NY—it's a game-changer! A spacious getting-ready space designed specifically with you in mind. This salon isn't just about space though; it's about the thoughtful details that make your prep time a breeze. We're talking bright lighting, large mirrors (perfect for those makeup touch-ups and glam selfies), four plush makeup chairs that scream "pamper me," and a private ensuite bathroom boasting a vanity and shower fit for a pre-wedding refresh. Need a breather? There's a large sectional sofa perfect for your wedding party to kick back while sipping bubbly. Oh, and don't worry about power—plenty of outlets for everyone's gadgets. They've even got you covered with a mini fridge to keep those refreshments cool and air conditioning to make sure everyone is staying comfortable while getting ready to walk down the aisle. It’s the ultimate bridal prep paradise!
Fontainebleau Inn Wedding Photos
Emily and Mikolaj chose to do a first look (and private vows) before their ceremony to give them more time to together on their wedding day. It was so nice to be able to roam the grounds together before their guests arrived. Also, can we take a second and appreciate Emily's bouquet? I'm so happy that she and Mikolaj decided to embrace all the colors of fall for their wedding day. Classic black and white is always elegant, but the color was what really brought this day to life and I can't imagine it any other way.
Stunning Views Year-round
The Fontainebleau Inn isn't just about history though; it's a feast for the eyes in every season. I was there in the fall, but I know that it’s absolutely stunning year-round. The vibrant blooms of spring, the lush greenery of summer, the fiery foliage of fall, or the serene winter wonderland, each season paints a unique backdrop for your love story.
Wedding Ceremony on Cayuta Lake
Emily and Mikolaj chose to exchange vows against the backdrop of breathtaking views overlooking Cayuta Lake. There's nothing like a dramatic walk down the aisle, and Emily and the wedding party walked down the hill from the Inn on this stunning fall day. I love how the red leaves on the tree behind Emily and Mikolaj matched their flowers and color scheme for their fall wedding. Whether you opt for having your ceremony on the sprawling grounds or on the spacious stone patio behind the Inn, each ceremony location offers a picturesque canvas for your ceremony photos. Emily and Mikolaj had their ceremony on the lake, but if you're looking for an indoor ceremony space, the historic Lawrence Chapel is just a short walk from the Fontainebleau Inn and offers an intimate and historic atmosphere for your ceremony.
